 Claire Perella Baxter, LCSW
 (she/her/hers)

As a social worker and a therapist, my primary goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for clients. Therapy is a journey that invites vulnerability; I am ever grateful for clients putting their trust in me and sharing their deepest parts. I firmly believe in the healing power of the therapy relationship – to have the space and trust to partner in exploring your discomforts and your strengths.

My counseling practice focuses on helping adults to find deep healing, to connect to their true selves, and to build skillful options for honoring connection without compromising their needs or shutting out what is important in their lives. I have worked with individual adults and couples, addressing issues such as childhood trauma, recent sexual trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, fertility or pregnancy concerns, challenging family dynamics, domestic violence, aging and caregiving, difficult life transitions, and building healthy relationships. The time I share with clients consists of traditional talk therapy, along with mindfulness practices, learning to listen to body sensations and emotions, and often engaging in tool building for self-exploration, creativity, and interpersonal connection.

I received my masters degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I have extensive training in Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy (DEEP), which incorporates interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, somatic/body, and emotion research, and is rooted in depth, existential, and psychodynamic psychology fundamentals. I often incorporate eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in my work with clients.
